Women Volunteers Policy
At Let’s Go Build, we deeply honor and value the manifold skills and contributions of women in the Body of Messiah. We recognize that women play an essential role in service, both on and off the worksite. While we are committed to empowering women in every capacity, for our initial projects, we will primarily be preferring women who are accompanying their husbands to serve in administrative and food service roles. This approach allows us to effectively organize our teams, maintain the integrity of the work environment, and ensure a smooth integration of new volunteers as we get acquainted with both skilled and unskilled laborers.
We understand that many women possess valuable skills in construction and other trades, and as we grow and expand, we will continue to explore ways to involve women in all aspects of our projects. Our ultimate goal is to create a space where all volunteers, regardless of gender, can serve in the ways Yah has equipped them, while ensuring the safety, efficiency, and success of each mission.
What can I do?
While the project is still a few months away, there are several things you can do in the interim to prepare:
1. Submit Your Application: If you feel called to volunteer, we encourage you to apply early. Be sure to share any skills or experience you have.
2. Spread the Word: If you know others who might be interested in volunteering, encourage them to apply as well. We’re looking for a diverse group of passionate individuals who are ready to serve.
3. Prepare Your Skills: Review those YouTube videos with pivot tables, or accounting best practices.
4. Pray and Reflect: As we prepare for this powerful week of service, we encourage you to spend time in prayer, and reflect on the heart of the mission. This project is not only about physical renovation, but also about restoring dignity and honoring elders in our community. Ask Yah to send you a few ideas that may help add to the work, ask Abba to send donations or materials and funds.
We are looking forward to an incredible week of service, and we invite you to be a part of this transformative experience. Together, we can honor the legacy of Juneteenth by rebuilding homes and lives, one project at a time.
